Things to do in Bimini and Grand Bahama

A Bahamas day trip from Miami or from Port Everglades in Fort Lauderdale, by fast ferry or day cruise to Bimini or to Grand Bahama (Freeport), is an international trip, not a local excursion. A passport is required, and travellers need a valid ESTA or visa to re-enter the United States.

Crossing times run roughly two hours or more each way by fast ferry, with the return built into the same day, though sailings can be cancelled on short notice in rough seas. Time spent in the Bahamas still counts toward the 90 days of an ESTA stay; the day trip does not reset that clock.
