Things to do in Key West

5 to 4 hours each way without stops, more with traffic. A day trip by coach is possible but exhausting, and staying one night changes the experience. Once there, Duval Street, the Southernmost Point buoy, sunset at Mallory Square and the Ernest Hemingway Home and Museum ($17-$18 admission) are the core stops.

Key West is also the gateway to Dry Tortugas National Park, reachable only by official ferry, seaplane or private boat, never by road, since the Overseas Highway ends here.
