Things to do in Key Biscayne

Key Biscayne is an island south-east of Downtown, reached by the Rickenbacker Causeway, not the causeways that carry traffic to South Beach: budget a separate crossing if you are combining beach and city in one day. The pace here is quieter than Ocean Drive, built around Crandon Park's public beach and the Bill Baggs Cape Florida State Park, home to a 19th-century lighthouse open for tours on a limited weekly schedule. State park entry runs a few dollars per vehicle. Most visitors give the island half a day to a full day, mainly in daylight, since it is not set up for a night out.
