Things to do in Little Havana

Little Havana is Miami's Cuban exile neighbourhood, centred on Calle Ocho (SW 8th Street) rather than on the tower blocks of Downtown or Brickell a few miles east, and it belongs to the mainland side of Biscayne Bay, not to Miami Beach across the causeways.

Domino Park draws a daily crowd of retirees playing dominoes on marble tables, and the street is lined with Cuban coffee windows and cigar shops. The whole visit fits into two to three hours, a half-day at most, since Calle Ocho itself only runs a short, dense stretch.

Getting there from central Miami by rideshare or car takes roughly 15 to 20 minutes, nothing like the drive out to the Everglades.
